A care plan can sound like a subscription you don’t need for a website that’s already finished. Here’s what’s actually inside one — ours, specifically — so you can decide.
Updates, applied and checked
WordPress, plugins and themes publish updates constantly, and many of them are security fixes. Once a fix is public, so is the weakness it fixes, and automated scanners start looking for sites that haven’t updated. A care plan applies the updates and checks the site still works afterward.
Backups that would actually restore
A backup stored on the same server as the site disappears with it. Off-site backups, kept separately, are what let you recover from a bad update, a hack or a hosting problem.
Monitoring
Uptime monitoring tells you when the site goes down. On the higher plans, malware monitoring and removal mean a problem gets caught and cleaned before Google flags it or a customer notices.
A monthly report, and small changes
You get a monthly health report, so you know what was done. The higher plans add speed checks, small content edits and SEO health checks.
Our plans
- Essential, $49 a month — core and plugin updates, off-site backups, uptime monitoring and a monthly health report.
- Pro, $99 a month — everything in Essential, plus malware monitoring and removal, speed checks and small content edits.
- Fortress, $199 a month — everything in Pro, plus a cloud firewall, priority response, SEO health checks and four content edits a month.
Cancel anytime with 30 days’ notice. No exit fee, and you keep the site.
What it doesn’t cover
A care plan isn’t a redesign, and it isn’t unlimited development. New pages, new features and big changes are quoted separately, so you always know what you’re paying for.
When you can skip it
If you, or someone on your team, will genuinely log in every month, apply the updates, test the site and keep backups somewhere else — you don’t need us. Most of the hacked sites we clean belonged to someone who meant to.
Questions
What does a website care plan include?
On our Essential plan: core and plugin updates, off-site backups, uptime monitoring and a monthly health report. Higher plans add malware monitoring and removal, speed checks and content edits.
Do I need a care plan for a WordPress site?
Only if nobody will update, test and back up the site every month. Unmaintained WordPress sites are the ones that end up hacked.
Can I cancel a website care plan?
Yes — anytime, with 30 days’ notice. There’s no exit fee, and you keep the site.
